Schaumburg Christian School provides a wide variety of opportunities for students to learn and develop in the area of music. From classroom music to private lessons, to choir and instrumental groups, SCS offers many different avenues for students to participate.
Group music programs are for our preschool-kindergarten students. Children have an insatiable curiosity at this age and want to learn about their world. Music education at this important stage in their development has been proven to have lifelong benefits. The Musikgarten curriculum used for this program is age-appropriate, highly researched, and sequenced to prepare students for future music education. Every class includes singing, playing rhythm instruments, listening activities and loads of movement. Children learn foundational music concepts in an environment that fosters creativity and engages all of their senses.

The Instrumental Music Program at SCS consists of a band, handbell, and strings division.
The four bands each represent a graduated level of training.
- The Beginning Band offers elementary students in 4th–6th grades an opportunity to play one of the basic instruments of the woodwind, brass or percussion family. No prior knowledge of music is required.
- The Elementary Band program is for students in 5th and 6th grades who have graduated out of beginning band.
- The Junior High Band is a continuation of the Elementary Band and offers more opportunity for performances and training.
- The Senior High Band provides advanced instruction in band performance and provides many opportunities to perform throughout the year. The SCS junior high and senior high bands are consistently awarded top honors in the annual state competitions.
Handbells is a graded program from 6th grade to 12th grade. The SCS senior high Handbell Choir has won at the national competition for seven consecutive years.
Students have the opportunity to perform in an organized choir beginning in grade four through their senior year of high school. Each choir performs in special programs throughout the school year.
